She lives in Falls Church, VA with her husband and two girls. While completing her Master’s, she lived with the Missionaries of Charity in India and studied the leadership style of Mother Teresa. Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Psychology, and a Master’s in Public Service Management from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. She has a passion for building teams that are committed to changing lives. Katie believes strongly that great leaders must first have a heart to serve. Katie has held several leadership positions over her career, including as a Social Worker and Administrator. She saw the challenges faced by dementia patients and caregivers and wanted to be part of creating something brighter. Katie’s desire to work in senior care came about when her grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and moved into a skilled nursing facility. Prior to working in senior care, she led field work and hospice teams with AIDS clinics and lived as a “house mom” in orphanages in Kenya, Uganda, Zaire and Rwanda – igniting a passion for serving others. The scholarship application will be posted to the camp website along with the application: Priority is given to applicants with the greatest need. The 4-H Office offers scholarships each year for youth who would like to attend 4-H Camp but do not have the means to do so. If you are interested, please contact your local Extension office.

Adults camp for free and many employers offer up to two days of community service leave that you can take advantage of to come to camp. We are always looking for adult volunteers to attend camp as chaperones. Bear Claws are awarded for spirit, participation, and demonstrations of good character. "Packs" will rotate through camp activities together and are involved in different contests on various days.
There is free swim and recreation time each day, as well as evening programs and a roaring campfire.Įach camper will be a part of a "pack" which serves as the camper’s “family” during the week of camp. This 5-day, 4-night program incorporates all of the favorite camp classics at an unbeatable price.Įvery morning at camp, campers will rotate through camp classes featuring activities like canoeing, high ropes, leadership, outdoor living skills, yoga and more.
